What is your first U of A memory?

My first memory at the U of A would be coming to the Annual Round Dance with my family! Now I work at First Peoples’ House and I help plan the Round Dance!

What’s something your coworkers don’t know about you?

Something my coworkers don't know about me is that I went to two elementary schools, two middle schools and three high schools! I was always the “new girl” growing up!

What’s your favourite distraction?

My favourite distraction would be going shopping! I always end up at Winners or Southgate Mall when I am procrastinating or distracting myself.

If you were enrolling in one course, program or degree right now, what would it be?

I think that I would enroll in NS152 - Introductory Cree; I would really like to learn Cree.

What’s a weird pet peeve you have?

When you're walking in the mall and the person in front of you stops suddenly and you almost bump into them!

You can invite anyone — alive or dead, real or fictional — to dinner. Who would it be?

I would love to go to dinner with my mosom (grandfather).

If you could see any live performance tomorrow, what would it be?

Morgan Wallen! I am really into country music right now!

What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?

My advice to 18 year old Kayla would be to slow down and take more time to enjoy all the moments you can with your family!

What’s one thing you can’t live without?

Sweatpants!

What three words describe your U of A experience?

Supportive. Diverse. Passionate.
