January 8, 2022 marks the second anniversary of the tragedy in which 10 members of the U of A community lost their lives when Flight PS752 went down shortly after taking off from Tehran's Imam Khomeini International Airport. On this occasion we honour all 176 passengers who lost their lives, including:
- Mojgan Daneshmand
- Pouneh Gorji
- Amir Hossein Saeedinia
- Mohammad Mahdi Elyasi
- Pedram Mousavi
- Elnaz Nabiyi
- Arash Pourzarabi
- Nasim Rahmanifar
- Saba Saadat
- Sara Saadat
"These 10 remarkable individuals were colleagues, friends, instructors, mentors, peers and students who were integral to the U of A community," says President Bill Flanagan. "Their influence lives on in their work and in our memories."
The university flag will be lowered January 7-10, 2022 in honour of the National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Air Disasters on January 8.
