Just what should one expect when they agree to ride a 30-person bike?
Even after going over our handy guide from last year's ride, I still didn't know what I was in for. Was it 30 bikes lined up end-to-end, or a compact 6x5 grid? For all I knew the 30 bikes were aligned vertically, all supplying power to the lowly rider steering at the bottom.

As it turns out, the Big Bike is a sturdy behemoth (pictured below)- a 3x10 grid of iron and chains commanded by one central steering wheel.
The U of A participates in a Big Bike ride every year as part of Edmonton Corporate Challenge and to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. This year, the fundraiser brought in more than $3,000.
