This week, the University of Alberta is celebrating two new Rhodes Scholars, several student and faculty awards, and more! So, congratulations to the following:
- Kathryn Dong, Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry - received the True Compassion Award from the Lieutenant Governor's Circle on Mental Health and Addiction
- Ed Ilnicki, Bears Football - awarded the Hec Crighton Trophy as the U SPORTS Football Player of the Year
- Amir Khadem, PhD Student, Department of Modern Languages and Cultural Studies, Faculty of Arts - awarded the Governor General's Gold Medal, the University of Alberta's highest honour for academic excellence bestowed upon graduating doctoral students
- Vivian Kwan, Undergraduate Program Coordinator, Faculty of Science - received the Donald S. Ethell Youth Award from the Lieutenant Governor's Circle on Mental Health and Addiction
- Mackenzie Martin, Student, Faculties of Education and Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences - named a 2018 Rhodes Scholar
- Eryn Orysiuk, Pandas Volleyball - named Athlete of the Week
- Leah Peterson, Graduate Student, Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine - received the Physiotherapy Alberta 2017 Student Leadership Award
- Iain Sander, Student, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry - named a 2018 Rhodes Scholar
- Kisha Supernant, Associate Professor, Department of Anthropology, Faculty of Arts - named the 2017-2018 Research Fellow for the Rupertsland Centre for Métis Research
- Kenneth Williams, Assistant Professor, Department of Drama, Faculty of Arts - received the Artistic Excellence Award at the 2017 Saskatchewan Arts Awards
- Alberta Law Reform Institute - November 30, 2017, was officially declared Alberta Law Reform Institute Day
- CKUA radio - happy 90th birthday!
The 14th annual Engineering Headshave raised $10,000 for the Alberta Cancer Foundation - well done!
