• Branko Braam, Professor, Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry — appointed as the Kidney Health Research Chair (Translational Research)
• Jie Chen, Professor, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering — inducted as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE)
• Roger Cheng, Chair and C.W. Carry Professor of Steel Structures, Structural Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering — named a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE)
• Justin Ezekowitz, Associate Professor of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry — received the FoMD Tier II Clinical Award for Excellence in Mentoring Students and Residents
• Trevor Haines, Resident, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry — received the Frank Squires Scholarship in Urology at the Surgical Awards Dinner
• Nathan Hoy, Resident, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry — received the Frank Squires Scholarship in Urology at the Surgical Awards Dinner
• Wenling Huang, Graduate Student, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry — won the Dr. Ray Rajotte Graduate Award at the Surgical Awards Dinner
• Angela Juby, Professor, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry — received the 2016 Canadian Geriatrics Society Ronald Cape Distinguished Service Award
• Scott Klarenbach, Professor, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry — appointed as the Kidney Health Research Chair — Health Outcomes
• Victoria Lam, Resident, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry — received the Shab Puri Award in Cardiac Surgery at the Surgical Awards Dinner
• David Lim, Resident, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry and Medicine — awarded the George R. Graham Postgraduate Memorial Bursary at the Surgical Awards Dinner
• Jiaxin Lin, Graduate Student, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry — won the Dr. Ray Rajotte Graduate Award
• Jingli Luo, Professor, Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering, Faculty of Engineering — inducted as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE) for her pioneering research into fuel cells and corrosion control
• Patrick MacDonald, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry — awarded a 2016–17 Killam Annual Professorship
• Troy Perry, Resident, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry and Medicine — received the RE Fraser Award for Excellence in Teaching (General Surgery) at the Surgical Awards Dinner
• Babak Sharifi, Resident, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry — received the Cooper Johnston Memorial Scholarship at the Surgical Awards Dinner
• Arya Sharma, Professor, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry — awarded a 2016–17 Killam Annual Professorship
• Kyle Stampe, Resident, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry — awarded the Dr. Hastings Mewburn Postgraduate Scholarship in Orthopaedic Medicine at the Surgical Awards Dinner
• Amanda Williams, Student, MSc Occupational Therapy (Calgary cohort), Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine — selected for the women’s national rugby team
