Mid-Career Research Mentorship

The Research Mentors Program for Mid-Career Faculty is a new initiative for the College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH) to be offered in 2024-2025. The program provides associate professors within CSSH with the opportunity to receive advice and guidance from professors outside of their academic units in support of their research career development. It encourages the sharing of both knowledge and experience across disciplinary lines and provides an interdisciplinary networking opportunity.

Having access to a research mentor who is outside your discipline, field, department or faculty can lead to new insights and open doors to new opportunities, while also creating a safe space to discuss your research goals and the possibilities of new research directions and collaborations.

Each research mentor will be assigned a small group of 3-4 mentees, with the groups meeting virtually 3-4 times during the year. Participation is voluntary, but program participants must be academic faculty members within CSSH. Research mentors must hold the rank of professor and research mentees must hold the rank of associate professor.
