The School of Library and Information Studies extends its thanks to a number of SLIS students and graduates who participated in the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research Outreach Program during the 2009-10 year.
Micah Cooper, Ali Grotkowski, and Lisa Shamchuk participated in the "Read In" literacy promotion events for students at various Edmonton-area schools. Ali also served as a judge for the Senior Speech Competition at Harry Ainlay High School. Jason Wong volunteered as a role model in the career panel groups for Grade 10 students participating in the WP Wagner High School Mentorship Program.
This is a great example of how our SLIS students and graduates give back to the community. Way to go!
