On July 1, 2010, Dr. Ali Shiri began a year's sabbatical. He is currently working on developing a book project proposal, focusing on the design, development and evaluation of user interfaces to various knowledge organization systems in the context of digital libraries, portals, subject gateways, open archives and content management systems. The aim of this project is to produce a monograph that brings together such diverse subject areas as digital libraries, user interface design and knowledge organization systems to support information access and retrieval.
