Professional Summary

  • Works to develop and implement a curriculum management plan for the ongoing review and evaluation of the curriculum, including formal mechanisms to obtain input from faculty members, students, and other appropriate sources. Also, to ensure curriculum decisions are made and implemented, meeting best practices in dental education.
  • Works to identify, inform and facilitate best practices in the dental education process.
  • Reviews and evaluates as well as provide and/or produce resources for the teaching and learning processes.
  • Liaise and work with Undergraduate Medical Education for the coordinated curriculum, ensuring needed collaboration and coordination with the DDS curriculum.
  • Oversee the use of University of Alberta and Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry technology for Learning Management (LMS) and Curriculum Management (CMS) systems.
  • Facilitates and engages in excellence in teaching and learning throughout the School of Dentistry.

Qualifications (Degrees)

  • BA in Recreation Administration from the University of Alberta
  • MSc in Recreation and Leisure Studies (Therapeutic Recreation emphasis) with a minor in Gerontology from the University of Oregon
  • EdD in Leisure Studies (Therapeutic Recreation emphasis) with correlate areas in Sociology and Gerontology from the University of Georgia. Dissertation Title: Enhancing Engagement and Social Interaction for Older Adults with Dementia-Related Cognitive Impairments in Activity Programs.
