What do you miss most about being a U of A student? The luxury of self-indulgent research!

Favourite campus memory? De:Scribing Alberta(s) Conference; Slavoj Zizek lectures; opening for The Cliks at the Powerplant

What's the one piece of advice you'd give a current U of A student? Get to know your profs, then do a project with them. They know a lot! Ask them!

Biggest life lesson learned on campus? It's all about cultivating relationships. Be good to everybody.

Favourite U of A Tradition? I danced in the Orchesis Dance Motif a few times. Neon orange vests, ahoy!

Favourite secret makeout/study spot? English grad student carrels. THE BEST. For making out or studying? Wouldn't you like to know… (for studying).

Favourite course/teacher? Heather Zwicker, Postcolonial Lit. She's still a friend.

If you got one university do-over, what would it be? I wish I wasn't so shy and scared of the Gateway. I had to learn to be a journalist ALL BY MYSELF.

What did you do to help you stay sane during exam time? Learn how to cook. That and be prepared. Bring a pen to exams. Not, say, a lemon zester.

What should all new grads know? It's not about your grades. It's not about what you know. It's what you can DO. If you got through university with only information, you did it wrong.
