Adam Krims (1963-2012)
It is with sadness that the Department of Music learned of the sudden and unexpected passing of Adam Krims in early September, 2012 as a result of complications related to a pre-existing illness. Dr Krims taught in the Department of Music from 1995-2004, and for the past several years was a Professor of Music Analysis at the University of Nottingham. Specializing in Marxism, urban geography and recent music history, as well as critical theory, cultural theory, and Afro-American musics, Professor Krims' research and publications spanned the areas of music theory, musicology, and ethnomusicology. The Department of Music extends its deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Adam Krims.
