End of an Era: Iconic Canadian Composer & Treasured Professor Emeritus Malcolm Forsyth Passes after battle with Cancer

It is with a heavy heart the Department of Music at the University of Alberta bid goodbye to iconic three-time Juno award winning Canadian composer and treasured professor emeritus Malcolm Forsyth. A leader with the Department of Music for 34 years, Forsyth has influenced generations of musicians and composers, leaving an indelible mark on our Department, and on the lives of our staff, students and professors.

A leader with the Department of Music for 34 years, Forsyth has influenced generations of musicians and composers, leaving an indelible mark on our Department, and in the lives of our staff, students and professors. We extend our deepest sympathy to the Forsyth family in this time of sorrow. We will treasure his memory.
