We are available to help you online or in person

1. Submit an inquiry via the ISVS Contact Form

When submitting your inquiry, please include the following:

  • Your University of Alberta email address
  • Indicate what your inquiry is about in the “Subject” section (for example, “Study Permit Refusal”)
  • Detailed description of your issue in the “Message” section including the country of residence and your program of study
  • Upload all relevant documents you need the International Student Specialist to review/provide feedback on (for example, if your inquiry is about the refusal of your study permit, upload ALL the documents you used in your study permit application including the refusal letter and the offer of admission)

3. In-person drop-in advising

Visit the International Service Centre (ISC) during regular advising hours to meet with an Advisor. We highly recommend drop-in advising sessions for urgent matters, especially for students whose study permits are expiring within the next three months, those who may not be in satisfactory academic standing, or anyone facing extenuating circumstances.

Advising is available without an appointment during the following times:

  • 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM (MT) Thursday and Friday
  • 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM (MT) Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

4. Online advising

An appointment is required to meet with an advisor online. Use your @ualberta.ca email address when booking an appointment. Online advising sessions are scheduled for 15 minutes each. If you are located in Edmonton, we recommend visiting ISC for in-person advising, so that online advising appointments can be used by students residing outside Edmonton.
