The Faculty of Science is hiring Day Camp Leaders (21 positions) for its July & August 2017 science summer day camps.
Our science summer camps are hands-on, five day camps for eight weeks from July 3rd- August 25th 2016. Camps are a collaborative effort between various departments in the Faculty of Science and provide an enriching experience for local youth. We are looking for enthusiastic, creative, caring, mature, and conscientious university students (ideally continuing in Fall 2017), preferably with previous experience mentoring young people and designing and delivering education programs. Coursework in Education, Science or Engineering should be combined with an interest in teaching children.
Day Camp Leaders will be required to lead educational scientific demonstrations and activities for children grades 1-11. Leaders are also responsible for the daily care of the student campers, including travelling with them to various labs, supervising free time, and conducting sign-in/out every day. This position will begin on a part-time basis starting May 29th (30 hours per week), and increasing to full-time (40 hours per week) July 3rd to August 25th.

A criminal record check will be required before starting. First aid will be required, but will be completed before camps if you do not have current certification.
