Eligibility

  • Nominee must be entering, or continuing in doctoral program
  • Nominee's major field of study and research must be demography
  • Awarded on the basis of academic merit
  • Awarded on the basis of research potential
  • Preference will be given to doctoral students in the Department of Sociology
  • If there is no eligible nominee in Sociology it may be offered to FT student in another doctoral program whose major field of study & research is demography; if no suitable nominee is found the scholarship will not be awarded
  • Open to Canadian citizens.
  • Open to permanent residents.
  • Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits.
  • Open to applicants in doctoral programs.
  • Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs.


How to apply

By Nomination Only: Students should contact their department for details on their application process. Nominations are submitted to GPS by the Department (or Faculty). The Graduate Scholarship Committee makes the final decision.
