D Alan Birdsall Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility
- Department of Biological Sciences - Graduate student and/or Post-Doctoral Fellow
- Nominee must be continuing studies at the University of Alberta
- Nominee must be specializing in the field of applied fisheries ecology and management
- Nominee must demonstrate scholastic excellence
- Nominee must demonstrate an outstanding potential for a professional career in the discipline
- Nominee must demonstrate a broad range of interests in recreational and other academic pursuits
- In odd-numbered years, preference will be given to a student who previously attended the University of British Columbia or who previously resided in B.C.
- This award is payable in September
- Open to Canadian citizens.
- Open to permanent residents.
- Open to foreign nationals holding Canadian study permits.
- Open to applicants in doctoral programs.
- Open to applicants in masters programs.
- Open to applicants in course-based study programs.
- Open to applicants in thesis-based study programs.

By nomination only. Students should contact their department for details on their application process. Nominations are submitted to GPS by the Department (or Faculty). The Graduate Scholarship Committee makes the final decision.
