Dean’s Grand Rounds: Dr. Marcia Anderson, Dr. Richard Fedorak Memorial Award

“We are all Ongomiizwin”

The roots of Ongomiizwin are in our teachings, our traditional health systems, our ancestors’ active work of resistance so that we can be who we are today, doing the work that we do to serve our communities. Through this presentation, you are encouraged to consider how we are all Ongomiizwin — clearing paths for generations to come.

Dr. Anderson is vice-dean of Indigenous health, social justice and anti-racism at Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba. She is Cree-Anishinaabe, a medical officer of health for the Winnipeg
Regional Health Authority, and executive director, Indigenous academic affairs, Ongomiizwin-Indigenous Institute of Health and Healing. Her research interests include urban Indigenous youth health, primary
health care and medical education.
