Towards Patient-Specific Treatment: Medical Applications of Machine Learning
In this seminar, Dr. Russ Greiner will consider the task of identifying treatments which have the best chance of success for individual patients. His presentation will include real-world medical examples, and explain how a machine-learning approach differs from that of finding individual biomarkers.
About Dr. Russ Greiner
Dr. Russ Greiner is a Professor in Computing Science at the University of Alberta, and the founding scientific director of the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute. He has received numerous awards including the CS-Can|Info-Can Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Killam Award for Excellence in Mentoring, both in 2023.
