Dr. Matthew Furey is a FRCSC fellowship trained upper extremity and trauma orthopaedic surgeon. He has multiple ongoing and published peer reviewed articles, invited review articles and text book chapters, and holds an MSc advanced research degree. His primary clinical and research interests are in orthopaedic trauma and post traumatic reconstruction, including elbow, hand and wrist.
Through his training and career, Dr Furey has maintained a high level of involvement in all stages of trainee education including being the Hand and Wrist representative member of the Orthopaedic residency training committee at the University of Toronto, and as active supervisor for medical students, surgical residents and fellows in clinical education at the University of Alberta. He is currently appointed Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of Alberta.
