In October 2024, the university launched Forward Together: The University of Alberta People Strategy 2024-34, which represents the university’s commitment to its people and reflects the shared aspiration of the hundreds of individuals who contributed their ideas and suggestions. The primary-affirmed name functionality, which launched over the summer, allows faculty, staff and students the ability to use and identify themselves by their chosen name. Read more about this tool.
14 Across: CASIP
CASIP is the acronym for the Continuous Administrative Service Improvement Program led by the University Initiatives Office that delivers streamlined improvements in finance, research administration, information management and reporting, and human resources administrative processes, as well as in the underlying technologies that support these areas. This year, the University of Alberta switched to Canvas, a learning management system or LMS, for short. Read more about the U of A's new LMS, Canvas.

SSH: The Podcast is a new platform celebrating the work of researchers from diverse areas across the social sciences and humanities, launched in August 2024. Listen to a podcast episode.
2 Down: Luminaria
After a year-long hiatus, the cherished winter tradition, Luminaria, held at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden, relaunched in December 2024. Read the top five reasons to attend Luminaria.
