Dunsi Strohschein’s portfolio includes responsibilities for the U of A Sexual Assault Centre and the Community Wellness Programs. She is also an adjunct professor at the School of Public Health at the University of Alberta.

Verna’s Vlog is a series in which I sit down with some of the incredible people who are a part of the U of A community to share their stories and learn more about what they do.

This episode of Verna’s Vlog is a conversation with Dunsi Strohschein, the inaugural assistant dean, Community Wellness Supports.

Dunsi’s portfolio includes leading the Sexual Assault Centre. As part of the university’s commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for all community members, Dunsi and her team are undertaking a community engagement and action plan initiative that will shape the future priorities of the Centre’s crisis intervention services, education and awareness initiatives and volunteer program. This includes broadening the Centre’s mission to be inclusive of sexual and gender-based violence survivor support and education services for U of A students in a way that reflects their needs. Through the Centre’s revitalization, Dunsi is also committed to exploring approaches to support the dedicated staff and volunteers who work behind the scenes to provide spaces for our students and prevent violence.
