I am pleased to celebrate the University of Alberta 2024 Killam Laureates.

This year, we have the privilege of welcoming a remarkable cohort of thirty doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows and professors into the circle of Killam endowment recipients. These thirty laureates were announced during a ceremony on Oct. 23 and we were grateful to have most of the trustees in attendance for this special celebration.

The impact the laureates have already had on our campuses and within the broader community is a testament to their dedication and expertise. They have made outstanding contributions to the university through their teaching, research and creative endeavours and I wish them all the best in the accomplishments that lie ahead.

Since 1967 the Killam awards have recognized stellar academic achievement, leadership and extraordinary success in teaching and research. I am grateful to the Killam trustees for stewarding these important trusts, which further learning, creativity and research for both the U of A and its Killam laureates.

Please join me in congratulating the U of A’s 2024 Killam Laureates!
