On Tuesday, we officially launched the University of Alberta’s inaugural People Strategy. It was a celebration of all who make up our organization and the impact we collectively have on Alberta, Canada and the world.
Over several months and in consultation with hundreds of U of A employees, we built a shared vision for the university’s culture and environment – as such, it reflects the individuals who contributed ideas, suggestions and aspirations. The strategy was also informed by the results of our Faculty and Staff Engagement Survey. The result is a roadmap toward fostering a vibrant and inclusive community where people at all levels of the organization thrive.
And, ultimately, it is a commitment to every member of the University of Alberta.
Over the coming months, as we all find ways to implement the People Strategy in our work, we will also initiate the development of a set of institutional values – work that was identified during consultations for the People Strategy. More information on that initiative will be shared as it becomes available.
We are grateful for everyone who contributed to this plan, to the Steering Committee members, and to those of you who live the university’s values every day. We continue to be humbled and inspired by the people who make up the U of A community.
