Back in October at the launch of our campaign, each of us - faculty, staff, and student, alike - were all invited to give our goodwill, to share our own stories of compassion, and to uplift our neighbours, families, and friends in need through gifts to the United Way.
Together we were able to raise a total of $691, 064 in donations.
These efforts have a real impact - our donated time and dollars are transformed into lived comforts for those who receive support from United Way assisted agencies.
This includes, but is obviously not limited to, hot reliable lunches for children, monthly transit passes for youth, and mental health counselling sessions for those in distress.
And while the tangible items are very much welcomed, it's the gifts of time, food security, and encouragement that often bring the greatest relief to those who receive them.
