Hey, spring cleaner, don't ditch that old DVD player! Instead, dig out its innards to build a cute little robot using junk from around the house. With the help of Dylan Brenneis, '16 BSc(MechEng), self-professed tinkerer and U of A engineering grad student, New Trail magazine has written the book (the detailed instructions, anyway) on how you can build your own. Here's what you need to know.
1: If you are intrigued and up for the multi-hour challenge of building this robot yourself, please download the full instruction manual.
2: By all means, tweet a video of your results and tag @UAlbertaAlumni or post it on our Facebook page.
3: If you just want to read a story about how Dylan built his robot, we totally understand.
