Description: Salvaged from a fate of being “dumpstered” when Ukrainian Voice newspaper closed its doors in 2018, over 4000 printing blocks [кліше] have fallen into the hands of Larisa Sembaliuk Cheladyn and Theodora Harasymiw. This lecture addresses the significance of 100 plus years of print history and materiality, and why the blocks are worth remediating as a mosaic/visual legacy honouring the Ukrainian press in Canada.
