The deadline for applications is February 1. Normally students are expected to start their program in September.
Entrance Requirements
The Faculty’s minimum admission requirements for the master’s thesis and course-based programs are a four year baccalaureate degree, or its academic equivalent, in physical education, kinesiology, recreation or another related degree, with a minimum admission grade point average of 3.0 on most 4.0 grading systems or B on most letter grading systems, based on the most recent two years of full time study (or equivalent).
The Faculty’s minimum admission requirements for the doctoral program are a master’s degree, or its academic equivalent, with thesis in physical education, kinesiology, recreation, or another related degree, with a minimum admission grade point average of 3.0 on most 4.0 grading systems or B on most letter grading systems, based on the most recent two years of full time study (or equivalent).
Where applicable candidates must meet the minimum English Language Requirements set by the Faculty of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies.
Laddering
Students who complete the certificate in good standing may be able to use the courses from the certificate to receive advanced standing in the course-based Master of Arts in the Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation. Completion of the certificate does not guarantee admission to a master degree program. The certificate may be used for both the basis of admission and advanced standing into the course-based master degree. Details can be found in the Calendar under Regulations of the Faculty of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies .
Entrance Requirements
The requirements for admission will include a baccalaureate degree with a minimum AGPA of 3.0 along with a minimum of 1 year of professional work experience in a related area or field of work. Students are also required to submit a letter of intent, a curriculum vitae or resume and one professional reference.
The curriculum will consist of four (4) courses valued at 3 units each for a total of 12 units.

- KSR 712 - Sport and Recreation Organizations and the Public Sector
- KSR 713 - Financial Analysis and Management in Recreation and Sport Organizations
- KSR 714 - Marketing and Sponsorship in Sport and Recreation
- KSR 715 - Facilities and Event Management
- KSR 716 - Contemporary Issues in Sport and Recreation
