Science Internship Program
Overview
The Science Internship Program (SIP) allows undergraduate students the opportunity to integrate work experience into their degree program by completing a paid internship with a Canadian or an International company.

Eligibility Requirements
- Open to: Students in the Faculty of Science, Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences, Campus Saint Jean or Augustana.

Recognition + Compensation
- Internship opportunities are full-time, paid work experience with a company in Canada or internationally. Students who successfully complete 8 months or more of an internship will receive a Science Internship designation on their academic transcript and degree parchment.
- Students do not receive degree credit for participating in an internship. Rather, it is a “Pass/Fail” experience, or in the University of Alberta calendar, it is “Credit/No Credit”.
Duration, Format + Location
- Students can choose to participate in 4, 8, 12 or 16 months of work experience as part of the Science Internship Program.
- Internship experiences are full-time work experience placements with companies. The majority of internships are in Canada but some students may go abroad, for instance, USA, Germany, China and India.
