Please note: this session has been changed from September 18 to September 19, 2024 due to some unforeseen circumstances.

MHFA Canada is an evidence-based training program that is designed, just like traditional first aid, to enable people to recognize symptoms and provide support until professional help can step in.

Intended Learning Outcomes

  • Identify signs of mental health problems in co-workers, friends, family, strangers and even themselves.
  • Consider how to best support the individual and to help seek appropriate treatment for them.
  • Build awareness and skills to help reduce the internalized shame and stigma of mental illness.

Details: This offering of MHFA training is in person. The program will be delivered in English and involve some pre-work as well as one-day in-person sessions on the scheduled date at Campus Saint-Jean.

Note: While there is no cost to attend, participants are required to provide a speed code at the time for registration. Failure to attend or a cancellation within 7 days of the session will result in the department being charged a $100.00 fee. Participants must complete the entire course (pre-work and the full in-person day) in order to be eligible for a letter of completion.
