The Institute of Prairie and Indigenous Archaeology (IPIA) is the first institute focused on Indigenous archaeology in the world. Director Kisha Supernant will share how the IPIA is changing the practice of archaeology by integrating Indigenous ways of knowing and being into archaeological teaching and training, and changing cultural heritage policies in response to the needs of Indigenous communities in western Canada.

This hybrid session will feature a variety of current projects within the IPIA, including Métis identity, Indigenous displacement and remote sensing of unmarked burial grounds.

ASL interpretation will be provided for this event, both in-person and virtually.

Online registration is now closed. Walk-up registrations at the venue are welcome, space permitting. We cannot guarantee admittance. The event will be streamed live.

NOTE: This session will NOT be available for viewing at a later time.
