Alberta continues to move forward with implementing a $15 minimum wage in the province by 2018, which is an unprecedented increase over a particularly short time horizon. In what began as a keynote talk to the Economics Society of Northern Alberta last September, Joseph Marchand of the University of Alberta has now formally written up his thoughts about how we should broadly think about these minimum wage increases in Alberta in a recently revised working paper. Andrew Seale wrote about it in Yahoo! Finance and Geoff McMaster featured it on the University of Alberta News.
