Updates for the U of A community, week ending October 29

Starting on Monday, November 1 you must have your CampusReady pass. 

We all share the responsibility to keep our community safe, and the University of Alberta's Vaccination Directive is integral to achieving that amid the ongoing presence of COVID-19. The directive, along with the Public Health Order, takes full effect on Monday, and CampusReady will be key to that. Here’s what you need to know, expect, and do to ensure that you are prepared for Monday:

Get your CampusReady pass

If you have not done so already, get a valid CampusReady pass by submitting proof of full vaccination or approved exemption before November 1. Even if you are still working and/or learning from home, you require a CampusReady pass to demonstrate your compliance with the vaccination directive.

Present Your Pass

Starting on Monday, students, faculty and staff must be prepared to show their CampusReady pass when requested. The following individuals can ask to see your pass: 

• Your instructor
• Campus service representatives 
• Event organizers
• Your supervisor
• Your HR Service Partners or other representatives from Human Resources
• Representatives from the Office of the Dean of Students

Non-compliance as of November 1

Students, faculty and staff without a valid CampusReady pass are not permitted on our U of A campuses or properties/facilities for any reason. Failure to abide by any part of the Vaccination Directive may result in a non-disciplinary unpaid leave of absence, discipline under the Code of Student Behaviour or relevant Collective Agreement or other applicable process. New information for visitors

Starting on November 1, all visitors are to present an Alberta government QR code to verify their vaccination status upon request by a university official. Presentation of a hard copy Alberta government-issued COVID-19 Immunization Record will also be accepted. 

If a visitor has an exemption they must provide an official U of A exemption letter with their government-issued ID and confirmation of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of attending that location. A visitor must have an exemption letter and negative COVID-19 test results in advance of coming to campus. No exemptions or testing will occur on campus.
