The increased spread of COVID-19 in Alberta has led to a record number of daily case counts and increased pressures on the provincial health system. To help stop the spike, the Government of Alberta is introducing stronger, wide-ranging public health restrictions.
As the Public Health Response Team and university managers evaluate the full impacts that the new restrictions will have on our current campus activities, we’ve made the difficult decision to pause all in-person classes, labs, and activities on all campuses for the day tomorrow, May 5.
Therefore, if you were planning to come to campus for class, work or research tomorrow, we ask that you stay home -- unless your work involves critical services. If you are unsure if this applies to you, please talk to your supervisor or instructor.
All off-campus university activities are required to follow applicable public health restrictions.
Further details regarding in-person classes and campus activities for May 6 and beyond will be provided tomorrow.
We know this temporary suspension does not come easy. Thank you for your ongoing patience and care as we all continue to respond to this pandemic emergency.
