Bachelor of Music / Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education Combined Degrees Program Guide
Choosing this unique and exciting program allows you to pursue your passion for music while preparing for a fulfilling teaching career, allowing you to harness your creativity to make a lasting impact on your future students’ lives. Offering a combination of music and education courses, this program is designed primarily for those desiring to teach instrumental music in junior or senior high school. A choral component is also included.
Gain hands-on experience through multiple practicum placements in diverse secondary school settings to build your confidence and classroom management skills while also learning from accomplished musicians and experienced educators as part of one degree program. At the end of your 5-year experience as part of this program, you will also receive 2 separate degrees simultaneously: a BMus degree and a BEd (Secondary) degree.
Academic Requirements for BMus/BEd Secondary students
- The Department of Music and the Faculty of Education offer two five-year integrated programs of 162 units each, leading to the degrees of Bachelor Music and Bachelor of Education (Elementary), and Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education (Secondary).
