Starting on Monday, October 4, all students, faculty or staff must be at least partially vaccinated or have requested a U of A exemption to vaccination requirements to attend campus. Today, the University of Alberta is implementing a new system called CampusReady for students, employees and visitors. Starting October 4, a CampusReady pass is required and will be the only accepted means of verifying you have provided your proof of vaccination or approved exemption at the U of A. The CampusReady pass applies to all University of Alberta properties and campuses.

Being CampusReady

To help ensure a safe and healthy campus, the U of A has introduced a new CampusReady feature to the MyUAlberta app. The CampusReady feature gives students and employees the ability to upload proof of vaccination, proof of exemption and rapid test results, in order to receive a CampusReady pass for access to campus. Visitors can also get a U of A CampusReady pass using the app.

CampusReady passes are available to U of A students, faculty, staff and visitors through a short online process.

Using CampusReady

Starting October 4, the CampusReady pass is required and will be the only accepted means of verifying you have provided your proof of vaccination or approved exemption from the U of A. Campus services and events will begin using the CampusReady pass to validate that attendees meet current U of A vaccination requirements

All campus attendees are expected to be ready to provide their CampusReady pass if needed by university, event or campus service representatives; however, you will not be required to provide your pass every time you enter regular activity spaces on campus, such as classrooms, workspaces and buildings.

Failure to Provide Proof

Under the U of A COVID-19 Vaccination Directive, you are required to provide the necessary documentation to attend university properties. After October 4, the Office of the Dean of Students will start contacting students who have not yet met the requirements of the Vaccination Directive; and, HR Service Partners will start following up with supervisors regarding employees who have not yet met the requirements of the Vaccination Directive.

If you have not submitted your proof of vaccination or requested an exemption by October 4, you will not be permitted on U of A campuses or properties until you do so.

Failure to abide by any part of the Vaccination Directive could ultimately result in being trespassed from the university, non-disciplinary unpaid leave of absence, discipline under the Code of Student Behaviour or relevant Collective Agreement or other applicable process.

If you are unvaccinated and do NOT qualify for a U of A vaccination exemption, you currently do NOT meet the vaccination requirements to be on campus. Contact the Office of the Dean of Students at dosdean@ualberta.ca or your HR Service Partner as soon as possible for further guidance.
