Technical Training Sessions
Are you ready to improve your technical skills? Want to gain confidence with key industry software and programs?
Students in the BCom and MBA programs at the University of Alberta School of Business are eligible to register for a wide range of technical training programs that will help set you up for career success.
Technical Training sessions for Fall 2024 include:
- Wall Street Prep
Key for any student pursuing investment banking, private equity, portfolio management, business and corporate development, capital markets, equity & credit research, and industry corporate finance careers.
Wall Street Prep will be conducting a Financial & Valuation Modeling virtual seminar. Taught by former investment bankers with applied expertise in financial and valuation modeling methodologies, this seminar bridges the gap between academics and the real world to equip students with the practical financial skill set they need to excel during the recruiting process and on the job.
Cost: US$92 per student
How to Register: Wall Street Prep
- Accounting Technical Training Session
These sessions are intended to supplement the academic classes with specific training in the most popular Accounting software systems used in private practice and industry today.
The software systems covered in these training sessions include: Sage 50, Quickbooks,and Power BI.
Cost: The Accounting Technical Training Sessions are generously funded by RBC Future Launch. There is no cost for students to complete the sessions listed below.
Tentative dates (in the business building labs (Bus B-24 & 28)) are:
• Quickbooks – Tuesday, September 24th 6 pm – 9 pm
• Sage 50 – Saturday, September 28th 10:00 am – 1 pm
• PowerBI Intro - Tuesday, October 1st from 6 pm – 9 pm
• Power BI Intro - Saturday, November 23rd from 10:30 am – 2 pm
How to Register: Registration will be through the Career Connect Events Calendar once all information has been confirmed.
