ELR Competencies
The ELR framework has three tiers:
- Competency Goals
- Competency/Transferable Skills for Employment
- Achievement Statements
All tiers are connected, moving from the general to the applied, ultimately concentrating on the articulation of specific skill development.
Competency Goals
There are 4 meta-categories that coincide with the Alberta School of Business Competency Goals.
As such, the Competencies are organized within the meta-category framework namely:
- Business Concepts and Theories
- Critical Thinking
- Responsible Business Principles
- Professional Skills
Competency/Transferable Skills for Employment
There are 44 Competencies noted in the Competency Framework. Each competency notes a specific transferable skill that may be developed as a result of a student’s engagement in a co-curricular experience.
Achievement Statements
Each Competency (or Transferable Skill) is aligned with a student achievement statement.
