On Campus Students Cross the Convocation Stage for the First Time
On Campus has been striving to attain full inclusion for our students since 1987. Inclusion has been gained in inches, but has eventually led us down the road to where we are today. Initially, On Campus graduates were invited only to attend the convocation ceremony as audience members; later, they were allowed to attend wearing only the gown. This evolved to permission to wear the cap and gown. In 2017, On Campus celebrated 30 years of Inclusive Education at the University of Alberta. History was made when students were finally granted permission to cross the stage with their graduating peers.
