September 30, 2011 saw the College celebrate the Fourth Annual Chancellor’s Gala at the Sutton Place Hotel in Edmonton. It was a wonderful night of dining and dancing. New friends and old friends joined in the festivities. An energized game of Heads or Tails infused the ballroom with waves of laughter as the suspense heightened. Lively bidding on items in the auction room increased the fun. Some guests danced the night away to the music of the C-Jam Big Band, and a good time was had by all.
The goal of the Gala shifted from that of previous years. The first three galas raised funds for the Accessibility Project which was completed in the summer of 2011. The funds raised from the Fourth Gala were targeted to help meet needs in education, infrastructure, and endowments.
Recognizing that we can only do great things when we work together and in appreciation for the community’s support of the College, we decided to “Reach Out”. For that reason, two stations were set up in the silent auction room at the Gala, one for donations to be shared with Bissell Centre and the other for donations to be shared with The Mustard Seed Church. Our connections with those two organizations include the conferring on Shelley Williams, immediate past Executive Director of Bissell Centre, an honorary degree in 2008, and The Mustard Seed as a practicum site for one of our students.
Thank you to all those who purchased tickets or tables for the Gala, donated silent and live auction items, and sponsored parts of the event. We are grateful to Hole’s Greenhouses’ sponsorship for the beautiful table centre pieces, and to TBJ Partners Event & Productions Management for their work and support. We look forward to the continued enthusiastic support for this important fundraiser.

3rd Annual Chancellor's Gala
On 17th September 2010, at the Sutton Place Hotel in Edmonton, our College hosted two hundred and fifty of our supporters, friends, and family in celebrating over one hundred years of educational excellence in the field of theology and the occasion of “Opening New Doors” to those in our community who experience mobility challenges. The bounty in which we shared, the conversation, the music, and the friendships discovered and rediscovered exceeded all expectations. The generosity of successful bidders in the live and silent auctions gave testimony to the commitment we experience from our continued supporters.
As a result of the participation and support of our friends, we were successful in raising approximately $55,000! Our dream of making our College building accessible to persons with mobility challenges is now a reality. On 14 September 2010, we marked the launching of our accessibility project with the turning of the sod. Almost forty individuals joined in celebrating this momentous occasion.
